DOLORES, DEE, MOM & GRAMS

I call her “Dee”. She is Debra’s mother. She is Josie’s and Ashley’s grandmother. She is Baylee’s, Rylie’s and Makiah’s great-grandmother. She is one of my two mothers-in-law.

Today we gathered at her place to celebrate her birthday.

Chocolate was among the guests.

This is one of those dumb self-portrait things where you point the camera at yourself and then turn the camera around to see how good the picture turns out. This one turned out half good.

Baylee shows off the size of her feet while Ashley enjoys some reading material.

The highlight of the gathering was when Baylee demonstrated her magical powers to Grams. Baylee had written her prediction of a specific card that Grams would pick from the deck before Grams actually picked it. Baylee riffled through the cards to show Grams that all the cards were different.

.

.

Baylee riffles through the deck and Grams randomly picks a card somewhere in the middle of Baylee’s riffling. The magician’s assistant, Rylie, looks on.

.

.

Rylie shows Grams the prediction that Baylee wrote down before Grams drew her card from the deck. On the paper is written “nine of hearts”. Amazingly, the card being held in Grams’ hand is, in fact, the nine of hearts!
.

.

.

Grams’ jaw drops open in amazement at Baylee’s ability to know, in advance, the card that was drawn from the deck.

This is simply one of many mother/daughter combinations celebrating Dee’s birthday.

The ice-cream-and-cake serving crew included Baylee, Nana and Rylie.
