MOTHER'S DAY TODAY

Today our church hosted a Mother's Day potluck and barbeque with two rules:

1. The men, not the women, were to bring a side dish.
2. The men were not to bring chips.

I agreed to serve at the function and, when I arrived with my vegetable tray from a local grocery store, I was assigned the simple, 20-minute job of separating a five-pound package of sliced cheese and placing the individual slices on a serving tray. Then Debra and Ashley arrived from the children's church where they were serving and we dined together among friends.

Mountain Christian Fellowship is located in a remodeled bank building in downtown Medford.

The Mother's Day lunch was held under tents in the parking lot. The tops of the tents are shown here to the left of the yellow buses.

Entrance to the parking lot.

Empty tents waiting for church to end and for lunch to begin.

Church ends and the hungry begin feasting.

There's Debra.

Barbequed hamburgers, potato salad and dessert filled three happy stomachs.

Great for the guys to serve the women this way. I love that the men were not to bring chips. You brought the next best thing. I'm glad it was nice whether.
