HOW TO MAKE A TOSSING GAME

After spending a pleasant Saturday at Tou Velle Park, Belinda left a comment asking how to make the tossing game. It's a great game and easy to make using inexpensive PVC pipe and connectors from any hardware store.

Supplies needed for each structure (one structure adequate, two structures better):
  • 16-inch lengths of PVC pipe (15 total)
  • Right-angle "elbow" connectors (6 total)
  • "T" connectors (6 total)
  • Golf balls (at least 8)
  • Rope (enough to connect golf balls)

Once you have the needed supplies, assemble as shown in the photo above. The photo can be enlarged simply by clicking it.

If using two structures, place them 20 feet apart and toss the golf ball unit from one structure toward the other. If using one structure, each player stands 20 feet on opposite sides of the structure and tosses the golf ball unit toward the structure.

Golf balls wrapping around the top rung = 3 points

Golf balls wrapping around the middle rung = 2 points

Golf balls wrapping around the bottom rung = 1 point

We wish to thank "Supermodels of Southern Oregon" for supplying the model used in the above photo.

Silas played this at family camp last year and loved it. Think Devon tried it too. Their birthdays are next month. Just sayin'.
