The final day of our relaxation-getaway-road-trip-tour took us 250 feet below the earth's surface into 44-degree cave air. We hiked an equivalent of ten flights of stairs to complete the 90-minute experience.
After leaving the cave, we caught our breath, descended the mountain from the cave exit, opened the doors to my pickup, stepped inside, sat down, buckled up and drove home.

I know you've been putting in some long days, but you're sure getting a lot of fun days off thrown in the mix too! Looks like you and Debra had a fun trip. Had you been to the caves before? I went in 8th grade, but someday I need to take the boys. They'd love it!
Bethany - Your mom and I went on a tour of the caves in 1973, before we were married. We were with a singing group at the school we attended. She played piano and I sang tenor. Once deep inside the caves, the tour guide had our group - about ten of us - sing a capella for the rest of the tourists.
Your boys would definitely love it!
What a lovely way to spend four days. Thanks for sharing it with us.
