ME AS A CAKE DECORATION

When patients finish their course of radiation treatments where I work, they often express their gratitude to the staff by giving a gift on their last day of treatment. Usually, it is a box of candy or a basket of fruit or donuts or something else that is edible.

Today a patient, who has discussed her radiation adventure on her own blog, gave us a cake which she decorated with a linear accelerator (the machine we use to treat patients) and with figures of the three radiation therapists who administered her treatments: Cindy, Cindy Lee and me.

Cindy Lee, Jaci, Patty, me, Kim and Donna stand behind Patty's cake.

The patient is shown lying on the treatment table flanked by Cindy (left), Cindy Lee (right) and me (sitting on the edge of the cake).
