Today was party time. Bethany stayed up late last night finishing birthday cakes, Naomi and I ran an errand in the morning, then we all headed to the park for a birthday party. Devon requested a bicycle cake. Bethany made one.
This morning I left the House on Hybiscus and drove to Wilsonville to celebrate the June birthdays of Bethany, Silas and Devon. Bethany's gift was wrapped in bubble wrap. Naomi noticed the bubble wrap and had ideas regarding what to do with it.
Jump, pop, jump, pop, jump, pop!
Silas and Naomi demonstrated their acrobatic skills together.
Since Devon's birthday arrived earlier in June, he got to be the first one to open his gift from Papa and Nana. Devon shows his birthday card to Granny.
Devon is pleased to receive a SpongeBob SquarePants video car racing game.
Silas, who actually has a birthday today, opens his card from Papa and Nana.
Silas also seems pleased to receive a video game which includes golf, tennis and bowling . . .
. . . and eight dollars in cash . . .
. . . and a headset. Silas looks up in response to the loud, enthusiastic singing of "Happy Birthday to You!" The boys show off their toys.

When Rylie celebrated her eighth birthday last month, she asked if she could have a pool party at our house once the weather warmed up in June. We agreed, June arrived, but the weather never really warmed up. Today, the day of Rylie's birthday pool party, the temperature stayed in the 60's, the wind blew, and the sun cast only rare shadows through moving clouds. Brrrrr! The weather, however, did not chill the enthusiasm of the five girls who wasted no time jumping into the pool. Rylie specifically requested that we inflate the dragon.
Rylie did not request the clouds in the sky.
Four of the five girls refused to be intimidated by the cool air. The fifth girl, a non-swimmer, was already in the pool wearing a life jacket.
Josie and Makiah stayed dry and watched.
Baylee leaps into the water. Rylie also leaps into the water.Five freezing females wrap in towels for pizza and snacks.
Around 4:00 p.m., the thermometer on the patio registered 66 degrees.
Makiah, wearing a sweatshirt, decided to go inside for awhile to get out of the cold.
Baylee and Rylie stayed outside drinking lemonade and eating pizza.
