GIRL TIME, PLUS ONE OLD GUY

This weekend, Debra and I hosted a wild weekend with Daisy, Baylee, Ally and Rylie. This is not the first time we've done this.

It started Friday, when I drove to Brookings, took Belinda out to lunch, spent a couple of hours on the beach with Josh and Neo, picked up Daisy and Ally from school, then returned to the House on Hybiscus.

After returning home, we got Baylee and Rylie and our weekend began. Friday night was low key, eating pizza and watching recorded episodes of last week's American Idol.

Saturday was busy, spending a couple of hours at a place called Kid Zone, then heading to the theater to watch Journey 2: The Mysterious Island in 3-D.

Today, we went to church, enjoyed a fine dining experience at Taco Bell, then returned all four girls to their parents.

As expected, it was all fun!

Nana cooked scrambled eggs and pancakes for breakfast on Saturday morning.

Kid Zone included 60,000 cubic feet of tunnels for crawling. Rylie and Ally are shown above and Baylee and Daisy are shown below.

Stationary bicycles controlled a video game.

The big sister team defeated the little sister team in a game of air hockey.

DEDICATING TYLER BRUCE

Today, our youngest grandson, Tyler Bruce, was dedicated to the Lord by his parents at their church near Portland.

Unfortunately, we were not able to leave town and attend the service this weekend. But Bethany sent us a link so we could watch the dedication live from home on our computer.

Watching the entire Weathersby family take the stage for Tyler's dedication.

Pastor Brett holds Tyler while the rest of the family looks on. Except for Naomi who scopes out the audience.

During Pastor Brett's dedicatory prayer, in which people are supposed to close their eyes, Naomi waves at someone in the congregation who is apparently also not closing their eyes but waving at her instead. It was fun to notice Devon, who was apparently peeking at Naomi when he was also supposed to be closing his eyes. When Naomi waved at the audience (more than once), Devon gave her a gentle nudge which probably meant, "Quit waving and close your eyes". But since I don't have the gift of "interpretation of nudges", I'm only guessing.
